Who We Support

At Enhanced Life Health Services on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, we support children and young people across a wide range of developmental profiles, abilities and diagnoses. We work collaboratively with families, educators and other health professionals to provide consistent, meaningful support across Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Support Services and Group Programs. Whether your child is typically developing or has a diagnosis, we provide individualised therapy tailored to their strengths, needs and goals. Rather than focusing solely on labels, we focus on how your child participates in everyday life, delivering therapy within their goal-environment (at home, school or in the community) to build practical skills, independence, confidence and lasting progress.

You, The Client

You are number 1! We recognise the importance of building rapport with you and creating a positive therapeutic relationship so that we can achieve the best out of our Occupational Therapy sessions together.

Assistive Tools & Technology

Assistive tools and technology are vital for children who face barriers in fine motor skills, attention, organisation, or daily routines. By providing supports tailored to a child’s needs, OT can help reduce frustration, promote independence, and enable participation in meaningful activities.

Behaviour & Emotional Regulation

Behaviour and emotional regulation are about helping children understand, manage, and respond to their emotions in ways that are safe and effective. All behaviours are a form of communication, showing when a child is frustrated, anxious, or overwhelmed.

Bilateral coordination and midline crossing are important foundational skills that help children use both sides of their body together in a coordinated way.

Cognitive Load / Fatigue Management

Many children, particularly those who are neurodivergent, can find it difficult to sustain attention, manage multiple tasks, or cope with long periods of mental or sensory activity.

Cognitive Skills

Cognitive skills help children understand the world around them, solve problems, and learn new concepts. These skills include things like reasoning, remembering information, noticing patterns, and understanding cause-and-effect.

Community Participation

Community participation involves a child’s ability to confidently and safely engage in everyday environments outside the home. This includes recreational spaces, social events, shopping centres, public transport, and other community settings.

Developmental Milestone Achievement

Developmental milestones are the progressive steps your child takes to become independent. By understanding early childhood milestones, you are better able to observe, and therefore support, your child’s development.

Early Feeding Foundations (0–2 years)

Feeding in the first years of life is about more than nutrition, it’s also how babies develop motor skills, explore textures, and learn mealtime routines.

Emotional Trauma & Regulation Support

Children who have experienced trauma may have difficulty regulating emotions, managing stress, or feeling safe in everyday situations. OTs use a trauma-informed approach to help children develop coping strategies, predictability, and confidence in managing their feelings.
